Laptop Hard Cases 17 Inch

Wanting to buy laptop, need help deciding?
I’m wanting to purchase a 13-inch 2.26GHz MacBook Pro with 4GB of ram and 250GB hard drive. I currently have 2.6GHz 17-inch MacBook Pro with 2GB of ram and 200GB (early 2008 model). It’s kind of falling apart ‘cuz the top case (keyboard) is separating from the bottom part and i screw the screws tightly and next thing i notice is, it’s loose again. Also the screen hinge is very loose. Is the 13-inch MacBook Pro’s screen loose? Should I do this upgrade? If it’s not a good upgrade what 13 or 15-inch MacBook Pro do you recommend? I will mostly be surfing the web, checking email, listening to music on iTunes, video chatting, and using iPhoto.
I have hp, its really fast, alomst a year now, and its still in perfect condition.
