Laptop Wet Help
my laptop got wet? help?
my basement got flooded, my laptop did not get r I went to wet, but it was plugged into the power cord, and when I saw all the water I went to get some stuff out of the basement, I picked up the laptop and got alittle shock… it was not turned on but it was charging…. I took a hair dryer and got it dried, I did not take it all the way apart just enough to get hot air in…. I went and bought a new laptop (same kind) I tried that power cord and nothing (not even the light showing there is a power cord in).. will the old one work after a few days or is it fried?
Since you bought a new laptop, I’m guessing you simply want the information inside of it. It won’t suddenly turn on after a few days after a rest. Bring it to a computer person. They can probably put the hard drive into another laptop, load it onto a CD, and you can put it onto the new one. But that one is lost if it won’t turn on now. Best bet though would’ve been to bring it to a computer person immediately – drying it probably damaged the wires a tiny bit from the heat.
And that shock? That probably means it is completely fried. Like I said though, hard drive might be fixable. Or it can even just be the power adapter is ruined. My computer got a surge through it and only the back where it connects to the cord had to be changed. So really, talk to a professional.
