Lenovo IdeaPad U1 laptop tablet hybrid delayed to 2011
Lenovo IdeaPad U1 a hybrid of computer that can function as both a laptop and tablet China will begin early next year, pushing its release date this past June.
Chinese PC manufacturer delayed the product because they do not meet company standards, as noted Lenovo Chief Marketing Officer David Roman of The Wall Street Journal. The company later confirmed the statement. Roman also said that the computer can be rebuilt before the start.
Lenovo IdeaPad U1 announced in January this year, calling it the industrys first hybrid PC for consumers. The device debuted in Windows laptop with detachable touch screen, which can be used as a separate tablet PC.
PC equipped with 11.6-inch screen and weighs 3.8 kg(1.7kgs). It picks up on Windows 7, but after disconnecting the device supported on Linux with the reported 16 GB of flash memory. Once detached, the tablet can connect to the Internet via a 3G connection.

Roman said, Lenovo has yet to decide whether the IdeaPad U1 will be sold as a hybrid PC, or will sell parts of the tablet computer as a stand-alone unit.
Lenovo Tablet PCs will among the growing competition in China. Last week, Apple officially launched the sale of its IPAD mainland market. Other Chinese companies have also begun developing their own devices, as well.
ZTE, one of Chinas largest telephone and network providers, at the beginning of this month was to develop a tablet to be called SmartPad V9. The tablets will run on Android 2.1 operating system and features a 7-inch touch screen. The device will be launched later this year in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
