new laptop. need your opinion!?

I’m a college student but rarely tote my computer to and from class. I just want to know if I will be able to:
watch dvds
play some games (Rome: Total War + expansions, Medieval Total War, Age of Empires 3)
use adobe photoshop CS2
I’ve read a lot about the Quadro graphics card and now i’m worried that i might have gotten a rotten deal with the specs on my laptop and what I want it for. I dont game a lot, literally those games I lised are the only thing I play, I have a ps2 for others.
just to let you know I paid about $2000 CAD before taxes. I think in the end it came under 2300 because I get a business discount.
Without knowing what you paid for it I can’t say if you got a good or bad deal, but the laptop sounds really nice. You’ll be glad you got the Core 2 Duo for sure. The RAM and video card (which I would LOVE to have in mine) will make the games you do play run smoothly (Age of Empires needs a decent graphics card if you want it to look nice; I don’t know much about the others), and it will also make sure your DVDs don’t freeze up or lag behind. On top of all that, you won’t have to worry about upgrading for awhile.
