Laptop Optical Drive
Is it possible to put my laptop optical drive in a external USB casing?
I want to swap the optical drive of my HP dv6 with an extra hard drive. This leaves me without a optical drive. So I was wondering if I could put the laptop optical drive into an external casing and then use it via USB when needed. If you know of such a casing please let me know.
I can assure you that it is possible to put a hard drive where the optical bay used to be. Try searching OBHD or newmodeus.

i doubt you can actually put HDD in dvd drive slot. any way for your question, there are no casing available for using internal optical drive of laptop as external. however you get USB DVD drives…
