Laptop Motherboard Reflow
How to fix my DV6000?
Okay so I had the black screen issue where there was no picture on the screen due to motherboard failure. So I bought a guide after searching hours and hours and did a reflow for it. The laptop worked really well for about a week then went back to the old black screen issue. I believe it was because my laptop overheated if so how could I fix it so stop that? If not what else could it have been?
There is no way to tell or advice to give you… when electronics overheat, the solder making the various connections softens and might even come loose. The point being, an electronic connection that was there previously, is no longer there.
The only way to tell is to open the system and look… but that assumes you already know what should be connected to what!
You could spends hours and days looking at all the connections on your motherboard and never find the problem. Is your time worth that and do you have the technical expertise to effect that degree of self-repair?
If not, buy a new unit and be done with it.
