Laptop Hard Drive Sata Adapter
Need help — using a USB-to-SATA converter with a 750gb laptop hard drive.?
Please help me.
Here is what I would like to buy:
I would like to buy a 750gb laptop hard drive and a USB converter. I want to have a hard drive connected to my computer with a USB cable. That’s all. No power cord. No power adapter. Just a USB cable. And this whole thing should be able to fit into my pocket.
Ok.
The problem is that I haven’t been able to find a converter that supports such a large hard drive.
So, what should I buy?
Some converters support laptop hard drives up to 500gb. See link below. Converters that support any hard drive require a power cord. It seems to me that the reason for the 500gb limit or any limit is that bigger drives need more power. Well, what if I try to find a 750gb laptop hard drive that runs at 5400rpm? Would that work?

just get a 500 gig 2.5 inch laptop hard drive and put it in this case

i usually only have to connect it with the usb cord, but i had one desktop that wasnt enough power, to i used it’s second usb connector for more power.
